Update to version 0.5
Main focus of this update is improving enemy behaviour and introducing new stage variant
Enemies
Behaviour of enemies have been improved, they are now less likely to fall off the stage. Apart from that they will be now categorized into difficulty levels indicated by belt colors: white-> yellow -> black, black being the hardest.
Difficulty indicates enemy speed and their accuracy in aiming at the player. However white belt enemies can be as fast as black ones, but their aim is lacking therefore they are more likely to fall of the arena.
Stage variant
This update introduces new stage variant: falling balls
This variant replaces old one with walls where player was scored based on number of walls left in the arena. In this new variant player is scored in the same way as stage type variant is on. Instead it adds new lose condition which is colliding with a falling ball. However it also works on foes whose death is counted the same way as if they were pushed off the arena.
The range at which collision will occur is indicated by the shadow below the falling ball. It also indicated its distance from the arena - if shadow is full it means that it has landed. It can be avoided by having middle of the ball outside the shadow. It will stay on the arena for a short period of time after which it will disappear. During this time collision with it will still cause a squish.
Falling ball starting distance from the arena, speed, and size is randomized within set values. Maximum number of simultaneous falling balls is the same throughout the stage but can vary between them.
Stages with this variant are indicated by a ball shadow in stage selection menu.
Minor changes
- Lock mouse cursor to the game window
- Make enemies less likely to spawn on each other
